Barrier Remediation
SCA offers a specialized barrier remediation service, called the Work Ready Program, which helps individuals overcome obstacles to self-sufficiency.
Work Ready Program
The Work Ready Program offers a full-family assessment. Work Ready Services focus on the management of the family’s mental health, rehabilitation, social support, and other needs. Once barriers are stabilized, a client may become work ready.
This program provides classroom and community activities to recipients of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) in Schuylkill County. These activities focus on participants’ strengths rather than on their barriers to self-sufficiency.

Interested participants should contact their Department of Public Welfare / Schuylkill County Assistance Office Worker for a referral.
Schuylkill Community Action is 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in 1964 to provide services to Schuylkill County residents living in poverty. SCA employs a comprehensive assessment and empowerment approach to provide services to economically disadvantaged persons in its service area.
